Initiatives & Impact

Annual Business Meeting

Held in the fall, Alliance Members are given updates on team performance, future plans, and growth strategies—directly from club leadership, in partnership with the Alliance Council. The meeting features insights into the club’s business and vision, soccer updates, discussions on fan growth and engagement, and an opportunity for fans to ask questions directly to the team leadership.

Alliance Council Initiatives

The Alliance Council meets with the Sounders on a monthly basis to represent the interests of our community. Organized into dedicated committees, our Council focuses on creating the best possible experience for Alliance Members. These committees work closely to address everything from matchday enhancements to broader club policies, ensuring that your voice is effectively represented at the front office.

Alliance Council Impact

Our history is filled with milestones that demonstrate our influence on the club. Each achievement highlights the power of democracy in sports—where every vote counts and fans drive real change.

  • Ongoing: Council members continue to advise on game day experience decisions and help plan the Annual Business Meeting, ensuring that our impact is felt both on and off the field.
  • 2016: We negotiated for the return of the physical MatchPass, secured realistic necklines on women’s jerseys, lobbied for matchday programs to return in 2017, requested clear bags in the ticket package, and advocated for member access to the General Manager via a Chalk Talk post-match.
  • 2015: Following the hiring of a new General Manager, the Council opened and reviewed the rules surrounding the General Manager Vote and Recall Process, ensuring the club remains poised to hire the best candidate.
  • 2012: We initiated the popular Alliance Scarf Design contests, a tradition that fans continue to enjoy.
  • 2014: Council members played a key role in creating the Sounders 40th Anniversary celebrations and events.
  • 2011: We crafted a Constitution and Bylaws for the Alliance and requested a Charter from the club for future operations, which were ratified by a general vote.
  • 2009: Our members planned the Supporters Summit as part of the MLS Cup festivities.
